New “Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Haiti” Video
Here is the first video from our weeklong shoot in Haiti “Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Haiti.” It was a real collaboration:
- Dorothy Wetzel: Marketer, Writer and Producer
Tim Frakes and Ulrick Louijeune behind the scenes of the HAPI video - Tim Frakes: Videographer and Editor
- Alex Sugarman: Music Score and Performance
- Tanya Hauth: Voice Over Artist
- Ulrick Louijeune: Translator
The purpose of the video is to provide an overview of the comprehensive and woman-based approach Haitian Artisans for Peace International (HAPI) takes to poverty alleviation in rural Mizak, a town in the mountains of Southeast Haiti. The video will be included in a newsletter on Wednesday to help incentivize people to contribute to HAPI on #GivingTuesday.
Next time I stretch my capabilities to take on a new task, I’m going to take a look at this video. It will remind me that I can indeed do a new thing! As readers of this blog know, I approached the task with some trepidation. While I had participated in commercial shoots as a client, I had never actually written or produced a video. But I jumped in feet first and got it done, with a lot of help from my talented friends and all the people at HAPI.
It also might help to consult the bible on occasions of self-doubt. This week my pastor preached on Isaiah 43:19.
I think somebody is trying to tell me something!
